Luther Blissett

Born in Wootton Bassett (now Royal Wootton Bassett), Wiltshire, England, 1955 

Lives in 'The Midlands', Tasmania (summer residence) and Launceston, Tasmania (winter residence) when not traveling.  

Born in the market town of Wootton Bassett, Luther Blissett (formerly Crispin Piers Bartholomew Crispin) is a direct descendant of Miles Crispin (also known as Milo of Wallingford) and his wife Matilda. 

Rejecting the traditions of his forebears and his responsibilities as landowner and gentleman, Blissett changed his name and as a young man served in the Royal Air Force, travelling the world, before undertaking tertiary study and various consulting roles. 

Blissett has worked as a freelance journalist, photojournalist and has contributed to poetry anthologies under various pseudonyms.

Shortly before his retirement, he initiated local support for and recognition of the repatriation of the bodies of 345 military personnel who had been killed in Afghanistan and Iraq.

He subsequently emigrated to be with his daughter in Tasmania, Australia.
